The Blue-tailed Bee-eater, Merops philippinus is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family Meropidae. It breeds in southeastern Asia. It is strongly migratory, seen seasonally in much of peninsular India.

Tailed Bee-eater (Binomial name: Merops philippinus) is a bird that has tropical bird characteristics: colorful feathers, the throat is chestnut red, black overeye pattern, wings and back are green, blue tail, feathers below the wings in flight is orange. In the sunlight, their body shining metal-like bright shiny, some people call it one of China's most beautiful birds.
